Two XLR/TRS combo inputs accommodate a wide range of sources, including microphones, guitars, bass, keyboards, and other line-level equipment. Separate +48V phantom power can be switched independently for Inputs A and B, providing compatibility with condenser microphones and other phantom-powered equipment.

A USB-C connection also supports USB bus power, while the R4 can operate as a 2-in/2-out USB audio interface at 48 kHz with 24-bit or 32-bit float operation. A microSD card slot supports compatible cards up to 1TB.
