Zoom F2 Field Recorder: Clip-Free 32-Bit Float Audio in a Compact Package
The Zoom F2 Field Recorder is a lightweight, ultra-compact audio recorder designed for podcasters, videographers, journalists, bloggers, and content creators who need reliable audio without constantly adjusting gain. With 32-bit float recording, the F2 captures a wide dynamic range while helping prevent clipped recordings, making it an ideal companion for interviews, video shoots, field recording, and other on-the-go production work.
The F2 is available in standard and F2-BT versions. The F2-BT adds built-in Bluetooth connectivity for remote control and wireless timecode synchronization when paired with a compatible UltraSync BLUE device.
32-Bit Float Recording Without Gain Adjustments
The F2 uses a dual AD conversion system and 32-bit float recording to capture audio with a wide dynamic range without requiring manual input gain adjustment. Record mono WAV or BWF files at 44.1kHz or 48kHz/32-bit float and spend less time worrying about setting levels and more time focusing on your production.
Made for Lavalier Recording
The compact recorder includes a locking 3.5mm stereo mini input with 2.5V plug-in power, making it well suited for the included LMF-2 omnidirectional lavalier microphone. Clip the F2 to a belt, talent, or other convenient location and capture clean dialogue without carrying a larger field recorder.
Compact Control for Creators on the Move
At just 32 grams, the F2 is small enough to stay out of the way while recording. A dedicated Rec/Hold switch helps prevent accidental button presses, while the headphone/line output includes dedicated volume controls for monitoring. The F2 records directly to compatible microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC cards up to 1TB.
F2-BT Wireless Control and Timecode
The F2-BT adds Bluetooth connectivity for use with the F2 Control app, providing remote settings adjustment and transport control. It also supports wireless timecode synchronization when connected to a compatible Timecode Systems UltraSync BLUE device, helping keep separately recorded audio and video properly synchronized.
Easy File Management and Configuration
Connect the F2 to a computer through its USB-C connection to transfer recordings and adjust settings using F2 Editor software. The USB-C connection can also provide power to the recorder when used with a suitable power source.
