The Standard of Excellence Jazz Ensemble Method is a comprehensive method designed to help develop the skills of beginning jazz players. The book is divided into three sections representing a different jazz style: rock, swing, and Latin. Within each section are rhythm studies, improvisation studies, and full jazz ensemble charts. Each book includes a CD with demo and accompaniment tracks, providing the students with opportunities to learn by playing and listening. In addition to all music from the part book, the score also includes tips on player selection, band setup, audio reinforcement, music selection, and rehearsal suggestions.
