NLfx and Chauvet LED lighting help Creekside Christian Fellowship Keep the Faith

creekside1-ljpgThe Creekside Christian Fellowship in Needville, Texas, was one of the very first installs to receive the new LED PAR 64-36 lights from Chauvet. The LED PAR 64-36 features high-power color mixing with 36 red, green and blue LEDs. It produces a bright, narrow beam that is ideal when a concentrated light is needed to highlight smaller areas or objects. The pastor frequently uses props during his sermons, so the LED PAR 64-36 was a perfect fit.

The order also included four Q-wash LED 36 moving yokes, each fitted with 36 1-watt LEDs to deliver a rich wash with full RGB mixing capabilities. A ShowXpress controller to program and operate the lights rounded out the gear list.

creekside2-ljpgThe church held its first service Sunday, May 17, but Travis Scharn, (their salesman from NLFX Professional) said he had been working with the non-denominational congregation for more than a year. “This is the first stage of the project,” he said. “They also plan to build a permanent sanctuary and a gymnasium. And this first building will become a multi-purpose room between the gym and the sanctuary.”

Travis flew to Texas three weeks before the installation. When he learned, a week later, that the original lights they were looking to install would not be available, he called Ben Stowe, owner of NLfx, then called Chauvet. They suggested the LED PAR 64-36s as a replacement and the rest is history. “When it came to crunch time, Chauvet came through for us,” said Travis. “And it turned out even better than what we would have had. The order was shipped immediately and the installation went smoothly with the crew putting in long hours.”

creekside3-ljpg“The church is happy with the ease of the system to program and run,” he added. “They will move this system, which is synchronized with music and video, into the sanctuary when it is built.”

There’s nothing like this lighting system in Needville, located in southeastern Texas with a population of 2,600. So the community is taking full advantage of the state-of-the-art system with community concerts and youth events along with Sunday services.

NLfx Professional will see the church through its next two stages. “You bet we will be involved in that,” Scharn said.
